UK retailer Waitrose has chosen Dutch SCM software company Quintiq to provide a one-stop distribution planning solution, replacing an array of spreadsheet, planning software and manual solutions.
Quintiq’s Advanced Planning and Scheduling Suite will be used for the planning of multiple fleets, and for dispatch and yard management at Waitrose’s distribution centres and retail outlets.
Quintiq is relatively small compared to many of the players in the SCM market, but it is growing and being taken seriously by the likes of DHL Express Europe. I predict we’re going to see Quintiq gain a growing presence in retail distribution solutions.
